# "The people" is already a worldview

**The people as a worldview:** "The people" is a crowd without names and already a theory: what is normal, what is done, who joins in. A worldview often starts in that plural.

## The cheapest chorus

"People do it this way." "People don't get it." The sentence sounds like an observation and is a casting: you put a crowd in the room that agrees with you, and nobody opens their mouth. In a [worldview](/weltbild/) that is a stance labeled normal.

Once "the people" is the reason, the check ends. A crowd cannot contradict you. A person can.

## Break it until names are standing there

Replace the plural with three people you actually spoke to this week. What person one said, what person two said, what you said. Often two opinions and your own sentence remain. The crowd was an amplifier.
