# The sentence you repeat about yourself

> Self-image as the sentence you repeat about yourself. Lay it next to the calendar. The gap is the Dream-Reality-Fit, without a new nickname.

**Self-image as a sentence:** Your self-image is the sentence you repeat about yourself when someone asks who you are. It gets truer when the calendar can hold it, and more expensive when it cannot.

## Kurz gesagt

- **One sentence, not ten traits.** If you need too many words, you do not have it yet.
- **The calendar is the second card.** It contradicts you without a comment.
- **Repeating makes the sentence firm.** It does not make it right.
- **You may change the sentence.** That is work of weeks, not an intro.

## The sentence in the round of introductions

"I am the one who holds the team together." "I am bad with money." "I am someone who works free." These sentences arrive early, often word for word, across years. That is the self-image in the form you hand to other people. [Reflection](/wissen/selbstreflexion-sich-selbst-kennenlernen) starts here, not at a type letter.

Do not ask whether the sentence is nice. Ask what you did this week that supports it, and what you did that takes it apart. Both may sit in the same week. The fit is the gap, not the moral.

## Repetition is not proof

A sentence you say often feels documented. It is documented when a second list shows it: hours, transfers, messages you actually sent. [Dream-Reality-Fit](/wissen/dream-reality-fit) is that second list beside the first.

| Basket | What sits in it |
| --- | --- |
| Fact | People often describe themselves as more stable than their behavior is from week to week. That is an old finding, not an app trick. |
| Hypothesis | One sentence can be held against a calendar. Ten traits can always be rescued somehow. |
| Folklore | "If you only say the sentence often enough, you become it." Saying it without the week is a cold open. |

## Drop the sentence or keep it

Three adult exits, as with the fit elsewhere: turn the calendar toward the sentence, turn the sentence toward the week, or leave the tension standing on purpose. Denial is the fourth, and it is not an exit.

Say the sentence once out loud and then three things from the week. [The take](/try) holds both, so you do not smooth the sentence in your head while you check it.

## Häufige Fragen

### What if I have several sentences?

Take the one that arrives when you are tired. That is the candidate. The others are often for an audience.

### Is a negative sentence automatically false?

No. "I agree to dates I do not keep" can be the truest sentence of the week. It goes false when you treat it as a nature instead of a behavior.
